Personalisation at Work - exploring the power of job crafting

We personalise all aspects of ours lives, yet seldom get encouraged to personalise our work.

 

This session will introduce the latest science and studies related to job crafting and how it can be used by employees to personalise their approach to work in ways which harnesses individual strengths and interests, make work more meaningful, productive and fun. 

 

Stories and case studies will be shared of how organisations have used to job crafting to boost wellbeing, professional growth and performance.

 

The session will be of interest to HR leaders looking for fresh perspectives and ideas to lift engagement, innovation and wellbeing within their organisations.

 

The session will explore:

  • Why we need a personal touch in work, why this is often missing and what we can do about it

  • The science and application of job crafting, an evidence-based approach to enabling people to bring their whole and best selves to work

  • Practical ways to apply job crafting in day-to-day work (for ourselves and others) 

  • Steps to create and embed a more personalised and flexible people experience across an organisation

Biography

Rob is a specialist in bringing positive psychology to work and brings zest and curiosity to all that he does. He is the founder and Chief Positive Deviant of Tailored Thinking, a leading evidence-based positive psychology, wellbeing and HR consultancy.

Rob is world-leading when it comes to bringing job crafting to life within organisations. His work, ideas and research on how people can personalise work and bring their whole and best selves to the workplace have been presented at academic and professional conferences around the globe.

Rob is a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD and a Chartered Fellow of the Australian HR Institute. He has a first-class Masters in Applied Positive Psychology from the University of Melbourne and continues to research and collaborate with academics from the University’s Centre of Positive Psychology. Rob is also a TEDx speaker, and has given talks for Newcastle University.

As a senior HR leader and consultant, Rob has delivered sector-leading and award-winning people initiatives and business transformation projects working with companies across sectors ranging from multi-national banks to digital start-ups.

An avid runner, Rob has previously competed on the international stage, having represented Great Britain in mountain running and orienteering. These days, Rob runs and cycles purely for fun and reflection and enjoys outdoor (mis)adventures with his family in Durham.
